INTRODUCTION

La mortalité d’origine traumatique est un problème d’une telle ampleur que les mécanismes à son origine doivent être connus et que des outils d’évaluation de la gravité ou de prédiction du pronostic doivent être mis à la disposition des praticiens. Cette hécatombe civile a un retentissement économique d’ampleur variable en fonction de la population concernée et des lésions présentées. En tout état de cause, des stratégies de réduction des coûts de prise en charge doivent être élaborées pour limiter les dépenses en préservant la qualité des soins.
